Apple’s newly introduced iPhone 13 is perfect for content creators and do-it-yourself marketers. Apple has made significant improvements to what the iPhone 13 offers in terms of photo and video capabilities.
We will save you the research and time and tell you 13 reasons why the iPhone 13 is perfect for content creators and social media managers.
1) Brighter Display
The new iPhone 13 offers a Super Retina XDR display similar to the iPhone 12. However, the typical max brightness of the iPhone 13 is 800 nits when the iPhone 12 displays 625 nits. This means the phone can produce a brighter screen than the iPhone 12. This increased brightness allows the user to see more detail on the screen. This is particularly important when shooting on sunny days when seeing the screen can be difficult.
2) Increased Color Accuracy
The Panel color accuracy on the iPhone 13 is also better than that of the iPhone 12. The iPhone 13 achieved a delta e score of .26 compared to .29 of the iPhone 12. (lower is better) In simple terms, this means that the iPhone 13 has a wider range of colors that are more accurate. This allows the screen to display and integrate more colors into photos, videos, and anything else the phone may be displaying.
3) Wider Camera
The iPhone 13’s camera sensor is 47% larger. This means the device can capture 47% more light and four times more scene than the iPhone 12. This enables better low light performance allowing your photos taken in the dark to have more detail and clarity.

4) Ultra Wide Upgrade
This is a huge increase in aperture level which could pay for the phone itself. Aperture went from 2.4 to F1.8. To upgrade professional lenses on cameras, we are talking a grand or two to make this increase. This camera upgrade offers 92% improvement when shooting in low light and now offers autofocus.
5) Telephoto Lens Upgrade
Take photos close up without having to be close up. The 3X zoom is one of the most prominent upgrades of the telephoto lens. This is not the best in low light or for action but that’s where you can choose to use the wide camera instead. The new lens also allows you to shoot 3X in portrait mode as well.
6) MacroMode
If you are into food photography or showing the close up details of products this will interest you. The iPhone 13’s MacroMode is automatically triggered when you are within a few inches of your product or muse. Apple says you can get within 2 centimeters close and get a focused shot.
Since releasing the iPhone 13, Apple has also fixed bugs to this mode through Apple’s latest iOS 15.2 beta upgrade. Now you can click a button to turn MacroMode on or off. You don’t have to go into settings to make this change anymore.

7) Cinematic Mode
The iPhone 13 is powered by an A15 64-bit ARM-based bionic chip. This chip allows the camera to offer new features like Cinematic Mode. Cinematic Mode records up to 30 FPS in 1080P. Cinematic Mode is a new feature that allows the camera to add depth to photos and videos. This feature grants your phone the ability to automatically shift focus during videos from one subject to another. This means that you will now be able to take high-quality video content without all the excessive background noise which in turn will force the viewer to focus directly on what you are trying to display.
While shooting you can let the phone automatically change the focus or you can tap on the screen and manually change focus. After you take the shot, you can edit who or what is in and out of focus which is amazing. Cinematic Mode doesn’t perform too hot in low light shots. However, it’s definitely fun to play around with when the lighting is right and Cinematic Mode can produce some great results.
8) Sensor-Shift Stabilization Upgrade
The new Sensor-Shift feature is an optical image stabilizer or (OIS) for short. This new automation will keep your shots steadier than ever before. If you are taking a video while walking or maybe over-caffeinated without a stabilizer, this feature has your back. Videos come out smooth as butter.
A common form of measurement for image stabilization is known as adjustments per second. To put it in perspective previous phones have had around 1,000 adjustments per second. However, the new iPhone 13 offers about 5 times that with 5,000 adjustments per second.
9) ProMotion
Both Pro iPhones offer the ProMotion feature which is an adaptive framerate of up to 120 Hz. In comparison, the standard refresh rate is 60Hz per second. In simple terms, this means that your new phone can refresh 120 times per second instead of 60. But what does this upgrade in screen technology do for you? Well, it will make scrolling smoother, videos sharper, and screens more responsive. Additionally, This gives a cleaner and smoother video, especially for those slow-motion shots.
Since 120 Hz is a battery sucker, Apple planned in advance by making it a variable rate. Apple will automatically adjust the refresh rate based off of the activity you are doing.
10) Photographic Styles
The new Photographic Styles feature allows users to take more control of color temperature. Users will now be able to toggle between different color styles such as warm, cool, standard, vibrant, and rich contrast. Similar to how Samsung & Pixels makes their photos. Think richer contrast versus more natural. These are not exactly filters but photo pre-set edits at the source. This feature can be a starting point for newbies who are not well versed in editing photos.
11) Faster Speeds
The iPhone 13 is built with the A15 Bionic chip vs the A14 chip which is in the iPhone 12. This new chip allows for increased processing power which in turn leads to increased speed. The 13’s CPU is 50% faster than competing phones, and the GPU displays graphics that render up to 20% faster. This means that graphics such as pictures and videos will render at a much faster rate.
12) Longer Battery Life
Not only is the iPhone 13 faster, but the battery life also lasts longer. The battery life for the iPhone 13 is 10 hours and 33 minutes. Comparatively, this is 2 hours longer than that of the iPhone 12. This increased battery life will allow users to get through an entire day of work without having to worry about taking a midday charge which can often be a huge inconvenience.
13) Low Price & Increased Storage!
Technically we have 14 reasons, but we will give you two reasons for the price of one here. According to Verizon, the entry-level iPhone 13 starts at just $799.00 with 128 GB of storage. Comparatively, the entry-level iPhone 12 was the same price when it came out but it offered half the storage with only 64GB. There are four different iPhone 13 options available at four different price points. As of today, November 16th 2021, here are the iPhone 13 prices at Verizon.
- The iPhone 13 Mini – $699.00
- The iPhone 13 – $799
- The iPhone 13 Pro – $999
- The iPhone 13 pro max – $1,099
In addition, the iPhone 13 comes with four different storage options. Choose from 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1TB. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 ProMax can include this 1 TB option for $1,499 & $1,599. This is subject to availability.
Check your current storage for a better idea of what you need. As an example, my iPhone 11 ProMax is currently logging in at 45.3 GB of storage out of the available 256 GB. I do also pay $2.99 a month for more iCloud space. I would choose 256 GB or 512 GB.
Spoiler alert, we also know iPhone sales are common on Black Friday. Tom’s Guide can tell you more about scoring the iPhone FREE or onsale.
